Except for "member sites" like those provided by AOL and others, most existing websites can be retrofitted with software from HirMon & Associates to allow owners to make updates to the information on their site (not the design; just the information).
The buzz phrase you may be familiar with is content management.
This represents a major advantage to a site owner whose existing site can only be updated by a skilled website technician! The savings in update charges alone can pay for retrofitting a site in short order.
It also eliminates the need for a website owner to consider switching to a website platform that allows similar content updates such as Joomla and WordPress bloging software. The cost for having such a site created with these tools is not inconsequential!
When complete, owners retain their existing site, but have the ability to change the text and photos shown on various pages -- personally and anytime they want.
The cost for retrofitting a site, well, depends on the site. In general the costs are (as noted on the price sheet for this product):
- Basic software setup and installation - $125.00
- Basic software setup includes conversion of up to 3 pages at no additonal cost
- Additional per page conversion - $35.00
Unfortunately, any special considerations that might relate to a specific website are not and cannot be described in general terms. For that reason, all pCMS retrofits charges are based on a site-by-site quote.
Our programs require that an existing website have the latest versions of the following facilities available (more about this in a minute):
- Linux operating system
- Apache web hosting software
- MySql database services
- PHP programming support
If you are a website owner, you may or may not have access to your web host to find out if these facilities are present. If you do - fine. If you don?t we can do a complimentary review of your site to find out for you.
We have several "stock" programs to draw upon to assist website owners to make updates to their own sites. For the most part, the text entry looks quite similar to the simple demonstration on this site; you might want to try the demo at some point. All HirMon update programs use essentially the same mechanism.
